Tashlich is a wonderful ceremony on Rosh Hashana in which we figuratively cast away our sins, even as we have been preparing to truly cast them away by evaluating our behavior over the past year and choosing to improve in the following year. Jews traditionally go to the ocean or a stream or river to pray and throw breadcrumbs into the water. Symbolically, the fish devour their sins.
Over the years we have received this or similar lists from many people. We put tongue in cheek to share some of our favorites with you. We hope these bring a smile to your face while not lessening the real meaning of this wonderful tradition.
All of us at Dayenu wish you a happy, healthy 5770, full of many flavors of bread.
