How do I hang a mezuzah?

Mazal tov on your new Mezuzah Case!

The mezuzah should be placed on the right hand side of the door as you enter the home or room, about a third of the way down from the top of the door. The mezuzah should be attached at an angle, with the top pointing into the room.

Holding the case in place, mark the spots for your nail or screws. Remove case and make holes. Use care when putting the mezuzah case up. Do not over tighten screws as you may damage the case. If using nails, protect the case with a cloth and tap nail into place GENTLY to avoid damaging the case. NEVER use nails for a glass mezuzah case.

Place the scroll inside the case, rolled so that the word שדי faces outward. שדי is a Hebrew name for G‑D, and also an acronym for שׁוֹמֵר דַּלְתֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל - guardian of the doorways of Israel. The blessing below is recited just prior to hanging the mezuzah:
בָּרוּךְ אַתָּה יְיָ אֱלֹהֵינוּ מֶלֶךְ הָעוֹלָם אֲשֶׁר קִדְּשָׁנוּ בְּמִצְוֹתָיו וְצִוָנוּ לִקְבּוֹעַ מְזוּזָה׃
Baruch atah Adonai Eloheinu melech ha‑olam asher kiddishanu b’mitzvotav v’tzivanu likbo‑a mezuzah.
Blessed are you Lord our G‑D, ruler of the universe, who has sanctified us with your commandments and commanded us to affix the Mezuzah.
