Miriam's Cup
Miriam's Cup is a new-ish (began in the ‘90s) ritual for the Passover seder, bringing the role of women to the table.
Miriam’s Cup, filled with water, reminds us of Miriam’s part in Moses’ life, in the Exodus story, and Jewish history. With Miriam’s Cup, we honor the role of Miriam and highlight the contributions of women to the Jewish culture, past and present.
A Miriam’s Cup can be Sterling Silver, ceramic, glass, or any material a drinking vessel can be. It can be marked as a Miriam’s Cup, or just designated as one — just as one does for the Elijah’s Cup. Dayenu always tries to have a lovely selection of Miriam’s cups.
